The pleasures of Victorian poetry lie in its multitude of lyric and dramatic voices, and, above all, in its rhythmic power and subtlety. Daniel Karlin's selection of poetry written and published during the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901) gives pride of place to Tennyson, Robert Browning and Christina Rossetti but also offers generous selection from other major poets such as Arnold, Emily Bront.
