Sinopsis

Based on the author's own experiences, this is the story of a black teacher's trials and triumphs with a group of senior pupils in a tough, overcrowded London school.The author himself made the transition from engineer to teacher in one of the toughest of East End schools. Sidney Poitier played him effectively in the subsequent feature film.
